Sublette County Democratic Central Committee meeting Dec. 8
Election to be held for a new Democratic Party Chair
November 28, 2017
The Sublette County Democratic Central Committee will hold a meeting on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 6-7PM in the Sublette County Commissioners meeting room in the Sublette County Courthouse in Pinedale.
The purpose of the meeting is to hold an election for a new Democratic Party Chair. Per the Party’s bylaws, any Democrat may attend the election as well as run for an officer position, but only Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen are eligible to vote. Officers serve a term of two years. Typically officer positions are renewed/changed during March of odd numbered years. Therefore, whoever takes over the current Chair position will serve in it until March of 2019.
To run for this position candidates must either: 1.) appear in person at the meeting or 2.) send a written statement of intent to current Chair Jeanne Brown at jeanneabrown@centurylink.net to share during the meeting.
Nominations will be taken from the floor. When all candidates are identified, each will be given the opportunity to present their qualifications, and may be questioned by those present. At this time written statements will also be read. After all candidates have spoken and answered questions, the County Chair will instruct the Central Committee members on the voting process and appoint a tally committee to count the ballots. All votes shall be by signed ballot.
