The Wyoming Game & Fish reports that a grizzly bear was shot in self-defense in the Boulder Basin area north of Pinedale on Thursday, May 31st. The encounter apparently occurred while an individual was hiking with three friends and a dog. The incident was reported immediately. While investigating the scene, Department personnel were unable to locate the cubs. No human injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
