Sublette BOCES, along with the Green River Valley Program of the Jackson Hole Land Trust, is pleased to present a tour of local homestead and ranching history. The 4-hour tour will be on Saturday, June 30th, the same day and part of the organization’s annual community picnic later in the day. The tour will be from 9AM to 1PM. It starts at 9 a.m. at Wrangler Gym parking lot in Pinedale.

Local historian, Ann Noble will kick off the tour with the history of homestead and ranching at the Cora Y and then the tour will progress down to the Sommers Homestead which is located 7.3 miles south on the East Green River Road. Fourth generation rancher, Albert Sommers will then share his wealth of knowledge of the historic cattle Drift and its role in sustainable agriculture in the Green River Valley.

Transportation and water will be provided. Please bring a light jacket, sunscreen, any snacks or non-alcoholic beverages you may desire. The tour is free, but registration is required. Register online at www.SubletteBoces.com/classes.
