Fire Danger rated High – No restrictions currently in place on BTNF

Current conditions on the Bridger-Teton National Forest are Fire Danger rated High – no restrictions currently in place (as of Wednesday, August 8, 2018).
Hot and mainly dry conditions will be in place across much of western and central Wyoming this week. Although winds will be light, much of the vegetation below 8000 feet is very dry. Thus, any burning is highly discouraged. If outdoors, please avoid parking in high grass and do not throw cigarette butts out.
Fireworks are prohibited on public land year round in Sublette County.
Many abandoned campfires have been found still burning this summer. Drown your campfires and make sure they are dead out before leaving. Campers can be liable for fire suppression costs if found their abandoned campfire caused a wildfire.
Backcountry campers are advised to check in with the local U.S. Forest Service office for current condition reports and advisories for the area they plan to be in. Offices are located in Pinedale and Big Piney for Sublette County.
