One killed, one injured in head-on crash south of Daniel

On March 5, 2019, a fatal crash occurred at milepost 123 on US 189 south of Daniel, Wyoming. Around 9:18 p.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were dispatched to the area for a two-vehicle collision. A 2014 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on US 189 when the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the northbound lane colliding with a 2009 Dodge Ram. The driver of the Ford has been identified as 26-year-old Big Piney, Wyoming resident Cory J. Sequera. Sequera was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Dodge has been identified as 22-year-old Pinedale, Wyoming resident Cassidy Jensen. Jensen was not wearing her seatbelt and transported to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for injuries sustained in the crash. The incident is still under investigation. This is the 22nd fatality on Wyoming’s highways in 2019 compared to 12 in 2018, 10 in 2017, and 9 in 2016 to date.
