MARBLETON, WYOMING - On Wednesday, July 25, 2019 during their regular training meeting, Sublette County Unified Fire formally appointed Mike Petty as the new Battalion Chief for Battalion 2 – Big Piney/Marbleton. Battalion Chief Petty will provide primary supervision for the Big Piney/Marbleton response area and ensure the facilities, apparatus, equipment, and firefighters are prepared to respond to emergency incidents in Sublette County.

Fire Chief Shad Cooper explained, "Mike has over 15 years of experience as a volunteer firefighter with our organization. He is fully qualified as a Fire Officer II and is currently working to complete his AS in Fire Science from Columbia Southern University". Cooper further explained, "Battalion Chief Petty has already displayed exceptional leadership as a company officer for many years. His significant experience, education, and qualifications will greatly enhance the capabilities of our organization". Mike Petty will also continue to serve as the Public Information Officer for Sublette County Unified Fire in addition to his new responsibilities as a Battalion Chief.
