Pole Creek Trail Days project improves trails on BTNF
September 26, 2019
As part of the National Public Lands Days efforts, volunteers came out and helped improve the Pole Creek Trail out of Elkhart Park on the Bridger-Teton National Forest Sept. 20-23rd. This is a popular and scenic trail into the Wind River Range.
Hank Williams acted as volunteer project lead for all four days. He had help from the local Bridger-Teton National Forest Trail crew and several volunteers. The group rebuilt and repaired turnpikes, installed a culvert, and installed multiple check dams, and cleaned and installed water bars. "The Pole Ck Trail is one of the most popular access trails into the Wind River Mountains and heavily used by locals and visitors alike. This particular trail project was identified by local residents at Friends of the Bridger-Teton's community forum this February. Hopefully the improvements are well-received and inspire others to join us next year," said Sarah Walker with Friends of the Bridger-Teton.
