March 23, 2020
The Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport in Rock Springs has implemented safety procedure restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the airport remains open, unless ordered to close by federal authorities, they have implemented restrictions on access to the airport’s public facilities.
Commercial airline terminal access to the commercial airline terminal is restricted to the following: • Ticketed airline passengers • Rental car customers • Airport/Tenant employees • Individuals aiding ticketed seniors, passengers with disabilities or unaccompanied minors.
Passenger pickup is restricted to from vehicles curbside outside the terminal.
There has also been a significant reduction in the demand for commercial flights due to the COVID-19 coronavirus. As a result, United Express flights, operated by SkyWest Airlines, will see a reduced schedule at the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport effective April 1. Initially, flights will be reduced from two daily flights to a single daily flight.
