The Sublette County COVID-19 Response Group gave an update on the situation in Sublette County on Friday, March 27th. Attending were Shad Cooper and Dave Doorn as Sublette County Unified Command, Dr. Fitzsimmons-Sublette County Health Officer, Janna Lee-Sublette County Public Health Nurse Manager, Emily Ray-Sublette County Rural Health Care District PIO, and Travis Bingham-Sublette County Sheriff’s Office PIO. The meeting was broadcast on Facebook Live.

The recording of the update meeting can be found on the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page

Highlights:
- Shad Cooper said they have created a unified Incident Command Group to coordinate efforts to work together as a team on the COVID-19 pandemic in Sublette County. They have formed to guide the objectives of the Incident Management Team, with their highest priority being the safety and support of the community.
- Dave Doorn thanked everyone who has been involved. Their efforts have helped the Clinics get needed supplies, couriers, equipment and more so they aren’t duplicating efforts.
- Janna Lee said they still had no positive cases of corona virus in Sublette County. As of today, the Wyoming State Health Officer extended all three of the special health orders until April 17th, which continues the closures and social distancing requirements. They have tested 17 people so far, with no positives. They are following CDC guidelines for who gets tested.
- Emily Ray reminded people they have new flow of traffic at the two clinics. No one with symptoms of corona virus will be allowed into the clinics. Also, the hours of the clinics have changed slightly, opening at 8:30AM instead of 8AM. She stressed that anyone who wants to come to the clinics please call first.
- Dr, Fitzsimmons restressed the importance of social isolation and minimizing social interactions, restricting indoor gatherings, and hygiene and hand washing as important strategies to flatten the curve of COVID-19 cases in Sublette County. We have another two weeks to go through these restrictions.
- Sgt. Travis Bingham gave a school update. All schools are closed through April 17th per order of the Governor as of yesterday (March 26th). Both school districts have been working on plans for remote learning. These will be effective April 6th. Parents should receive notifications and instructions from their child’s school.
- Mindi Crabb is the new volunteer coordinator during this COVID-19 health emergency in Sublette County. Anyone who wants to help, or needs help, can call 307-209-4037 or email sublettecovidvolunteers@gmail.com.
