Tax Day moved from April 15 to July 15

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin wrote on Twitter today (Friday, March 20, 2020). "We are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties."
Americans will have an additional three months to file their taxes amid the coronavirus pandemic. Also, California residents won’t have to pay or file their state income taxes until July 15, the state Franchise Tax Board apparently said.
On March 18th, the Treasury Department issued guidance that the tax payment deadline was moved to July 15th, but the filing deadline was still April 15th. The new order changes the filing and payment date to July 15th.
