Highlights: - Ridley’s is closely following the CDC recommendations for social distancing and safety for businesses while staying open during the pandemic. The local and corporate levels have been closely coordinating. They have a monitoring metering system to determine how many people can be in a store at a given time. The Pinedale store size can accommodate 400 people at any given time. They are taking any and all necessary precautions for the safety of customers and their employees. - The store is getting special graphics in to help with safety information. They are putting down new directional signage that will help with traffic flow up and down aisles. They have also put up plexiglass panels at the cash registers to put some protection between cashiers and customers. - Ridley’s offers a couple apps to help make shopping with social distancing easier. Skip is a self-checkout app that allows you to skip the checkout line. Scan your items as you shop, pay from your phone, & leave the store without waiting in a line. It also hasReal-Time Pricing so you know the price you'll be paying for each item and your running total. - Ridley’s also offers Home Powered online shopping through their Rosie in-store pickup or grocery delivery service. Sign up at https://www.shopridleys.com/. They ask if you do request home delivery, that you put a note outside your door with the delivery ticket so they can drop off the delivery, grab the confirmation # ticket they need, and go without either of you having to interact with each other. - Store employees are wiping down all the carts as they come back into the store and sanitizing them between customers. - The store asks customers to only come to the store for essential shopping. Send only one person from the household into the store at a time, and try to stack up your needs list so you only come to the store once a week if possible. - So far, the CDC has said wearing masks is not mandatory, just recommended. Ridley’s encourages wearing them. Many customers are coming in wearing them. - Ridley’s is offering special shopping hours for seniors only (and their caregivers) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6AM to 7AM. - Dr. Fitzsimmons commented this isn’t a normal time for the store. Everyone is working hard to make it a safe shopping environment for both customers and employees. He said he knows everyone is frustrated, but please don’t take that frustration out on the store employees. The coronavirus isn’t their fault. - Tim said he has 85 employees in the store who are trying very hard to deal with this situation the best they can. There are lots of shortages right now, but they are placing orders all the time and it’s getting better getting things in. - Tim said thank you to all the people who have showed kindness during this difficult time. - Dr. Fitzsimmons did a shout out to Burney’s grocery store in Big Piney for their good work down there also.
