Award-Winning Play coming to Pinedale June 18

Kicking off their 5th season, Studio Theatre at CCPA will be bringing its award-winning play FAMOUS & INFAMOUS WOMEN OF THE WEST: The Cody Monologues to Pinedale’s Museum of the Mountain Man on Thursday, June 18, 2020.
Written by Wyoming playwright, Bethany Sandvik, this one-act play features some of the most important, yet oft forgot, women who helped shape Wyoming history. The show will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 7 pm in the outdoor pavilion tent. Admission is free. Proper social distancing will be in effect with 6’ distances maintained between audience groups. There will be limited seating – with only room for about 100 people. To make a reservation please call the Museum at 307-367-4101 to reserve your spot.
This performance is sponsored by Sublette BOCES, the Sublette County Historical Society, PFAC and the Wyoming Arts Council.
"We are so excited to be on tour this summer," notes the play’s author and director Bethany Sandvik. "It is our belief that women built the West just as much as men, if not more. We want to share these remarkable stories with more people, and this tour will help us do just that!"
FAMOUS & INFAMOUS WOMEN OF THE WEST is a one-act play featuring many historical figures from Wyoming. The Pinedale performance will include: controversial author, Caroline Lockhart; "Red light district" dames, Cassie Waters and Etta Feeley; the original "Lady Doc," Dr. Francis Lane; and Buffalo Bill’s Wild West performer Orilla Downing.
The play has been awarded an "Honorable Mention" in Fine Arts by the Wyoming Historical Society and features professional Wyoming actors. Additional performances of the play which include more "famous" women can be seen at Studio Theatre’s home space in Cody, August 4 - 15.
