Due to COVID-19 concerns
July 15, 2020
Organizers have announced the cancellation of the 2020 Fort Bridger Rendezvous. They cited the amount of work and expenses that would need to be done to comply with all the current health regulations, as well as the inability to maintain the standards of the event with all the restrictions and requirements that needed to be met. This would have been the 48th year for the annual event.
The Fort Bridger Mountain Man Rendezvous is a mountain man rendezvous in celebration of the Fur Trade Rendezvous Era that occurred in the Rocky Mountains between 1825-1840. It is one of the largest mountain man gatherings in the nation. The event includes a primitive camp in which participants are expected to dress and camp authentic to the early fur trade time period. The event takes place the first weekend in September in Fort Bridger, Wyoming. Fort Bridger is on a Wyoming State historic site which is under the direction of Wyoming State Parks Division. This year’s rendezvous was scheduled for September 4-8, 2020.
