Halloween Scavenger Hunt at the Museum
October 31, 2020
The past year has been topsy-turvey living with COVID-19 for the past ten months. The Museum of the Mountain Man took advantage of Halloween falling on the last day of their summer season to have some fun with a new spin. History is everywhere, so they decided to have a scavenger hunt that focused on the history of candy. A lot of the candies we enjoy today began over a hundred or more years ago.
For Halloween, families were invited to come up to the Museum at any time during the day and follow the scavenger hunt clues, and spiders, to answer the questions and find the candy cards. Once the questions were answered, the kids brought their filled out scavenger hunt cards up to the front and get a bag of candy. The scavenger hunt cards had tidbits on the fun history of that particular candy. The turnout for the day was far greater than anyone expected, and everyone enjoyed a beautiful day and fun for Halloween at the Museum.
Even though the Museum is closed for the summer season, they are available for tours over the winter by appointment by calling 307-367-4101 during regular business hours. They will also be open the first week of December for Wreath Auction Week as an online auction with the wreaths on display at the Museum December 1-4th.
