Show Us Your Social Distancing!
Winter Activities Photo Contest: Deadline Friday, Nov. 13, 2020
by Sublette COVID-19 Response Group
November 4, 2020
With the increase in COVID-19 cases in Sublette County, our interagency response group is kicking up our public education efforts throughout the county’s communities. Our Sublette County social distancing posters are popular, but it’s time to gear up for winter season. We are seeking photo submissions that demonstrate social distancing in winter, Sublette County-style. All images must be high resolution vertical shots, in color. Images should be at least 300 dpi resolution and able to be printed at 24" x 36" size.
The campaign’s local focus & themes: Sublette County: Where social distancing comes with the territory. Sublette County: Where social distancing comes naturally.
What we are looking for: A high-resolution vertical shot, in color, that we can use on a poster. Photos should depict Sublette County activities, and our preference is for local photographers.
Here’s the kind of activities we’d like to see depicted: backcountry skiing, snowboarding, skijoring, sledding, snowmachine riding, hockey, dog sledding, fat bike riding in snow, snow kiting, and pitching hay to livestock or elk.
The Plan: We’ll comb through the submissions and make the tough choice of which photos to use in our winter campaign, selecting up to six images. Large posters will be printed and placed on outdoor messaging boards in every community in the county. Although the photographer’s names won’t appear on the posters, the posters will also be available as a free download on the county covid website, where we will highlight the photographer who provided the image, and we will celebrate the release of the posters with a public acknowledgement of the photographers whose images were selected.
If Your Image is Selected: We will pay $100 per image, and you’ll receive a public thank you from the Response Group, and our total gratitude for helping us get our messaging out in a Sublette County-way. If your image is selected, you’ll need to provide an invoice and sign a county voucher for payment (which we will provide).
The clock is ticking: The deadline for submission of images is Friday, Nov. 13, 2020. Email your images to sublettecovid@icloud.com, and include the photographer’s name and contact information in the email.
