January 5, 2021
This afternoon the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) reported 26 more coronavirus-related deaths among Wyoming residents, including an older adult Sublette County woman who died late last month. She was a resident of a local long-term care facility. It’s unclear whether she had health conditions recognized as putting patients at higher risk of serious illness related to COVID-19.
There have been 7 COVID-related deaths of Sublette County residents since the pandemic began. Deaths among Wyoming residents are added to the state’s coronavirus-related death total based on official death certificate information and the location of the person’s permanent residence. Deaths among Wyoming residents who pass away in other states are not counted in both states. If death certificates do not describe COVID-19 as either causing or contributing to a person’s death, those deaths are not included in Wyoming’s count of coronavirus-related deaths.
WHD reports that Sublette County has 11 new COVID-19 cases today. Sublette County has 25 active COVID-19 cases, with 582 recoveries, and 7 deaths, for a total of 614 cases since the pandemic began.
COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths across the United States are rising. Please take steps to slow the spread of COVID-19
