Rob and Nancy Tolley report that the terrain is pretty open up to about New Fork Lakes road, but past Black Butte in the Upper Green still has full snow cover. They report three feet of hard, crusted snow near the Bridger-Teton National Forest boundary. They watch the pronghorn migration move through each spring and fall, but there is still too much snow yet for the animals to get up that far. They also report getting some arrivals of Black Rosy Finches, which are migratory. They have had Gray Crowned Rosy Finches coming to their bird feeders in large numbers all winter, counting sometimes as many as 350.
