The Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale is excited to get back to normal this year with a full slate of 35 programs. Green River Rendezvous is Thursday through Sunday, July 8-11th.
HIGHLIGHTS
American Mountain Men Living History Camp – The AMM will attend in full force with a living history camp and 13 hours of programs. Don’t miss Campfire Stories & Songs on Saturday evening at 8pm.
Plains Indians by Bad Hand – Bad Hand will be back in person for eleven hours of presentation on daily lives of the Plains Indians. Special guests as part of this year’s presentations are Case, Tim & Allie Bird In Ground from the Crow Nation.
Native American Crafts (Children’s Programs) – Lapita & Dan Frewin are also back this year with six children’s craft programs on Friday and Saturday.
Rocky Mountain Fur Trade Journal Forum – Four of the 2021 Journal authors will give presentations about their papers. We are honored to have Jerry Enzler presenting his new biography of Jim Bridger. All Forum presentations will be streamed live for remote viewers and recordings will be available for later viewing. We will also be hosting the annual meeting of the Jedediah Smith Society on Friday morning. Everyone interested is welcome to attend. Click here to visit our Youtube channel.
5th Annual Western Art & Wine Auction, Thursday, 6:30pm – The live Art & Wine Auction will be held Thursday night to kick off rendezvous at the Museum. Those who cannot attend can still participate via absentee and call-in bids. Bidding on silent auction items will now be available online allowing more people to participate. Visit www. Journal Reception & Movie Night, Friday 6:30pm – We will be honoring Journal authors on Friday evening at 6:30pm. Movie night will begin at 7pm followed by a panel discussion by fur trade experts.
Fremont Lake Boat Tour, Thursday, 9am & 1pm – Sublette BOCES is sponsoring two boat tours on Fremont Lake on Thursday guided by Jim Hardee and Scott Walker. Each tour will follow the route of William Drummond Stewart’s 1843 India rubber boat trip to the upper end of the lake. Space is very limited.
