Community Bak Pak Program

The Community Bak Pak Program has doubled in size (and demand) since it started in 2018-2019. During school year 2020-2021, 780 backpacks of shelf stable, kid friendly food went home with kids on Fridays, assisting with their food needs over the weekend. School counselors ensure food goes to eligible kids.

This local effort is made possible by volunteers, and funded exclusively by generous donations from local businesses, companies, organizations, and private citizens. In 2020, The Bak Pak Program was also a recipient of one-time CARES Act Food Grant monies. This grant allowedus to purchase a large food storage cabinet and increase our food inventory. The PinedaleCommunity Church provides space for food inventory and for backpack assembly.
