Rocky Mountain Power Foundation supports swim lessons
by Friends of PAC
October 2, 2021
Friends of PAC is excited to once again partner with the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation to support the Pinedale Aquatic Center’s Learn-to-Swim program. The grant funds will be used to maintain quality swim lesson opportunities for the youth of Sublette County.
Additionally, the grant funds will allow PAC to continue offering the voucher program to the local elementary school. This program provides opportunities for every elementary student in the district to participate in learn-to-swim lessons. PAC provides lessons to every Pinedale Elementary School 3rd and 4th grade student as part of their PE curriculum, while vouchers for a session of free lessons are given to all other PES students grades K-5. 76 vouchers were redeemed in 2020-2021 (that's $3,040 in swim lessons!).
The next set of swim lessons will run November 8-December 8 with more to come after the first of the year. The Learn-to-Swim initiative is the largest program offered at PAC, providing swim instruction and water safety awareness to nearly 900 participants every year. PAC currently offers 34 different sessions for public learn-to-swim courses. At least one session is offered for nine out of the twelve months of the year. Within each session, a variety of class levels are available ranging from parent-child (infant) through the Jr. Lifeguard Program.
The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Rocky Mountain Power. Their mission is to support the growth and vitality of communities in their service area. In 2020, the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation awarded nearly $1.4 million to local nonprofit organizations.
Friends of PAC’s mission is to ensure supplemental funding and community engagement for ongoing recreational services and facilities in support of the Pinedale Aquatic Center (PAC).
Thank you, Rocky Mountain Power, for your support of programs in our community!
