Celebration of Life for Lisa Roberts Tatro Sept. 17 in Daniel

There will be a celebration of life for Lisa Roberts Tatro on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 3:00-5:00PM at the Daniel Schoolhouse in Daniel, Wyoming. All are invited. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made to Kickin’ Cancer of Sublette County.
Obituary
DLisa "Lisa" Roberts was born July 24, 1958, in Jackson Wyoming to Richard "Dick" Roberts and Leona Osborne. She passed away peacefully in Jackson on September 6, 2022, at the age of 64 with her husband and son by her side. Lisa was a great cook, a wonderful mother and a loving wife and grandmother.
Lisa was the youngest of six kids born to Dick and Leona. She was known as "Tub" to much of her family and friends thanks to her brothers calling her Tubby as a young girl, just to give her grief because she was so skinny. Lisa graduated from Pinedale High School in 1976 and on November 19, 1976, she married Hal "Stub" Tatro. They had two boys, Jory Z Tatro and Joshua L Tatro. Being a mother was what Lisa loved the most and she frequently talked about how much she enjoyed her boys as they grew up. She often referred to those years when the boys were growing up as her favorite years. She served as a 4-H leader for ten years, helping her own boys as well as many other youth in the community.
The family ranched in Sublette County most of their life, which was work that Lisa loved. She loved horses and was always excited to go for a ride. She loved buying and helping Stub train colts year after year and was always ready for the next horse sale. They usually started 2-4 colts each year and what hardly anyone knew was that she rode a lot of their colts and did a wonderful job of it. In cowboy lingo, there was only a couple times she got dusted and only twice did she get bucked off (but one of those times was Stub’s fault). She also excelled as a roper and handled calves in the branding corral as well as anyone. Stub says he never saw her get it any kind of trouble in the branding corral. She and Stub got into the reigning cow horse world for a few years where they competed mostly in Utah. She won two 3rd places on two different horses and won year-end buckles in her division.
Lisa and Stub spent a short time in Montana later in life but were called back to Sublette County to be closer to their family and the place that would always be home to them. Stub and Lisa always seemed to end up back in the saddle as that was work they truly enjoyed. They spent several years riding for habitat management projects, where Lisa was able to ride and be in the mountains, two of her favorite things. They also helped Murdoch Land and Livestock move cows through The Drift which was something Lisa truly looked forward to every year.
Her many nieces and nephews were very special to her, and she treasured the time she spent with her close family and friends. She had a special relationship with her niece Kadi, which she cherished. Kadi recalls as a girl how dedicated her Aunt Lisa was as she would let her sing for hours in her kitchen with a spoon for a microphone. Kadi was one of Lisa’s biggest supporters through her battle with cancer and helped her immensely. There were very few days that they didn’t text to say good morning and chat for a little while. They didn’t talk on the phone too often because their conversations would typically last a couple hours.
She adored her grandkids and loved to tell stories about them to friends and family. They brought her abundant joy, and her cowboy coffee was a favorite request from them. She loved that they would pop in frequently to visit her, and she could often be found taking them outside on an adventure or letting them help her in the kitchen.
Lisa also loved taking pack trips into the Wind Rivers. She loved hunting as well as camping but after she’d killed an antelope, deer and elk all she wanted to do then was go along for the ride and the camping. She was able to share her love of horses and camping with her oldest grandson Bodee and accompanied him on multiple horseback rides including a hunting trip in the Wind Rivers which was a trip that she cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dick and Leona, son Jory, and brothers Dru and Louis. She is survived by her husband Stub, son Josh (Ashli), her 3 grandchildren, Bodee, Finlee and Aiden, and siblings Dianne (Joe) Boroff, Jenny Roberts, Zac (Patti) Roberts, Tawny Roberts (in-law) and Leisa Roberts (in-law).
