Thursday, December 22, 8:30AM: -24F in Pinedale as of the time of this report. Road Closures and NO UNNECESSARY TRAVEL Advisories out for many roads in southern Wyoming this evening. South Pass has Chain Law Level 1 posted. Much of I-80 across Wyoming is closed due to winter conditions, Rock Springs to Laramie. Slick roads, blowing and drifting snow, limited visibility making travel extremely difficult if not impossible in places today. Wind chills from -30 to -45F below zero. Dangerously cold wind chill values today through Thursday. Protect exposed skin from frostbite for anyone recreating or working outdoors. Dress in layers. Frostbite and hypothermia can take effect in as little as 10 minutes outside. Today’s high around Pinedale only expected to get to -2F around Pinedale. Tonight night expected to drop to -22F. Then things will improve a bit with daytime temperatures in the teens to 30Fs by Friday. Friday through Monday look like better weather for traveling.
