July 1 Windstorm hits Pinedale area

A powerful windstorm came through Pinedale area Friday evening, July 1st, causing power fluxes, lots of broken tree limbs, and downed power lines. Blown over trees in Boyd Skinner Park caused the Town of Pinedale to close the park for a day while crews cleared debris and determined the park was safe to reopen. One citizen reported wind gusts up to 43mph in the Daniel area. The weather station at the Pinedale airport recorded wind speed of 34mph with a gust of 54mph. The windstorm was associated with a large thunderstorm moving over the area. No other reports of property damage or injuries were known as of the time of this report.
