A strong thunderstorm moved over Pinedale Tuesday evening, August 22nd around 6PM bringing heavy rain, lightning and thunder. Winds were recorded at 20-33 miles per hour with gusts up to 49 miles per hour at Ralph Wenz Field-Pinedale airport. Streets quickly became flooded, branches were knocked off trees, and several trees were reported blown down around town, including a large cottonwood tree that fell across Pine Street/US 191 across from Wells Fargo Bank, blocking traffic for a time. The Pinedale fire department used a fire truck to block the road until the tree could be cleared. No injuries were reported. Many thanks to Richard and his chain saw who helped remove a tree that fell down across B Street. The storm lasted about half an hour.
