Food Bank of Wyoming launches the FRESH Express Route

Food Bank of Wyoming has recently launched a new route across Wyoming to increase the amount of fresh produce available for neighbors in need around the state. The addition of the FRESH Express Route will give our Hunger Relief Partners access to produce to replenish their pantries with nourishing food. In the face of rising food prices, healthcare costs, and limited or no access to fresh food, Food Bank of Wyoming recognizes the importance of connecting our neighbors with quality, nutritious foods. These deliveries are at no cost to our partners and within the first six weeks of the FRESH Express Route, we have provided an additional 62,000 pounds of produce! In just one year, Food Bank of Wyoming experienced a 50% increase in purchased food costs. Despite this increase, Food Bank of Wyoming continues to purchase these items for Hunger Relief Partners because eating nutrient-rich food helps prevent health-related conditions that often accompany food insecurity. The FRESH Express Route is one more step toward addressing the health and well-being of our neighbors across Wyoming and we are grateful for the support of donors that make this work possible. This December, all gifts will be MATCHED, dollar-for-dollar, up to $100,000 thanks to the John P. Ellbogen Foundation. That means every $1 you give can help provide enough food for SIX meals to neighbors in need and support us in delivering nutritious food across the state.
