Sublette Center and Hospital District merger complete

On December 20th, 2023, at 12:47pm, the Sublette Center board adjourned for the last time. Present were Sublette Center board chair Patty Racich, Nancy Guio, Ruth Steel, Marilyn Jensen and Kerry Majhanovich, along with the combined hospital board members including Kenda Tanner, Tonia Hoffman, Dave Bell and Ashli Tatro. After 45 years as a nonprofit organization, the Sublette Center will now merge with the Hospital District to combine the two organizations and continue to be of service to seniors in our community. This historic merger unites healthcare under one umbrella within the county.
The merger brings new opportunities for the Sublette Center and new resources to continue providing important care for seniors in our community. Nancy Guio, who has served on the Sublette Center board for 14 and a half years, says, "It’s been fantastic serving for so long with this amazing group. I wish good luck to the hospital board as they bring the Sublette Center under their wing." Dawn Walker, Administrator of the Sublette Center thanked the outgoing board for their service. "It’s been an honor working with each of you."
Moving forward, the operations of the Sublette Center and the Hospital District will largely remain the same with the Interim Administrator Lindsey Bond leading the Hospital District and Administrator Dawn Walker leading the Sublette Center. Together, they fully expect to maintain the familiarity that the community has come to appreciate with the Sublette Center. Lindsey Bond notes, "We want to preserve the essence of what has made the Center special while potentially giving resources and support from the Hospital District." Dawn Walker notes, "Together, we’ve charted a promising path forward."
The new Sublette Center facility will be attached to the new Critical Access Hospital, both of which are currently under construction in Pinedale. The facility is expected to be completed in March 2025, at which point the two organizations will be housed under one roof.
