Celebration of Life for Wilma Davis in Marbleton May 25
by Covill Funeral Home
May 21, 2024
Wilma Lee Davis was born May 8, 1936 in Pinedale, Wyoming. She was the first-born child to Bill and Magdalene (Toots) Bloom. Wilma grew up on the Bloom ranch located on the Green River, along with a brother, Bill Bloom Jr., and sister, Bonnie Bloom Alexander.
Wilma attended a rural school on the ranch until 7th grade. She attended Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, UT for three years and finished her high school years in Pinedale.
After completing her requirements in airline training school, she met the love of her life, Tuffy, and they were married on April 20, 1955.
They moved to the Fredell Ranch, owned by the Norris family. They lived in an old house with a dirt roof and floor without indoor plumbing. Tad, their oldest son, was born on November 21, 1957. Holly, their second child, was born on January 11, 1958. The house was upgraded to a single wide trailer with indoor plumbing and a clothesline!
Tim, born April 5, 1962, completed the family.
It didn't seem to matter what the house was like, Wilma always made it a clean and cozy home.
Wilma was a nurturing mother. Tad was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at five years of age. That required extra time and effort on Wilma's agenda, but she still enjoyed working on ranch with Tuffy.
Occasionally, she worked at Helens Shop, a clothing store in town. She loved to cook and sew. She made the best homemade breads and candy.
Wilma passed peacefully in her home on May 16, 2024.
She is survived by her brother, Bill Bloom; sister, Bonnie Alexander (Kip); daughter, Holly Davis (Saul); son, Tim; grandson, Wacey; and three great-grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by parents Bill and Toots Bloom, husband Tuffy Davis, and son Tad Davis
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 25th at 11:30 a.m. at the Marbleton Senior Center.
