NEWS ALERT from Sublette County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), Saturday, August 10, 6:30AM: A new forest fire started Friday evening at Merna Butte off Horse Creek Road (about 12 miles west of Daniel). Fire crews are on scene and Forest Service fire crews are on the way. Everyone within a 1-mile radius of Merna Butte is in "Set" stage for possible evacuation. Everyone in a 5-mile radius of Merna Butte is under "Ready" and should be monitoring the situation for possible evacuations.
