Hospital artwork artist reception Oct. 10
Mae Orm and David Klaren artist reception at the Pinedale Library
October 9, 2024
Local artists, Mae Orm and David Klarén will host an artist reception at the Pinedale Library on Thursday, October 10th from 5:00 to 7:00PM. The focus of the reception will be two large (8’x5’-tree and 4’x6’-heron) mixed media pieces that will be permanently installed in the new hospital once it is finished. The tree piece is entitled "Resilient Vitality" and will be placed above a fireplace in the senior living section. The heron, titled "Ascend" will be above a seating area. Both were collaborations between Mae Orm and David Klarén. The two artists have been working on these two projects together for the last two years after applying for a grant through the Wyoming Art Council and partnership with Sublette County Health. Mae owns and operates Pinedale Arts & Crafts in Pinedale. David owns and operates Mystery Print Art Gallery in Pinedale.
Each piece is made up of tiles that are mosaics, ceramics (with locally sourced clay from Willow Lake, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, wood carvings, encaustics. The frames were custom built by David.
The exhibit in the library includes some of the artist’s work that directly relates to the final pieces, the original gridded plans for each piece and photos of the work in progress. This show will be on display until Nov. 2nd and then the pieces will be placed in storage until their final installation in the hospital.
