Foundation 23, now in its third year, was started to increase awareness, connections, and financial backing for non-profit organizations in Sublette County. During their annual fundraising from July through September, donors give through them to any of the participating non-profits of their choice and have their donations matched. The group sponsors the annual Race to Rai$e, formerly the Pinedale Half Marathon, in mid-September. The race includes a half marathon, 10K, 1 K Fun Walk/Run, and this year added a new 5K. This year’s race, now in its 20th year, had 297 registered racers. There were 23 Matching Donors who contributed over $75,000 to the donation effort.
The Foundation 23 fundraising year culminates in the Cally’s Helping Hands Nonprofit Appreciation event, which was held on Wednesday, November 6th, in the Lovatt Room of the Pinedale Library. Thirty-six local nonprofit organizations participated in the fundraising efforts and were recognized at the evening event. Local donations to nonprofits amounted to $119,201, and with the added $75,700 in matching funds, a total of $194,901 was raised for Sublette County nonprofits during this year’s fundraising campaign.
Cally’s Helping Hands is named after Cally McKee, a community-minded, passionate volunteer who made a positive impact on many nonprofits in Sublette County. She was one of the co-founders of the Pinedale Half Marathon, and lived life with a strong spirit of volunteerism. Cally passed away unexpectedly in 2014. In her honor, Cally’s Helping Hands was started to recognize the volunteers and nonprofits within Sublette County.
