CLOSURES Camping Closures: The closure area for the Divide Fire is now the fire perimeter area itself. Lakes closed to camping for public safety include: Divide Lake, Knob Lake and Moose Lake. Trail Status: Entire Scab Creek Trail #110: From the trailhead to Cross Lake is OPEN. The Scab Creek Trail serves as the northern boundary for the camping closure below Cross Lake. Entire Sage Basin Trail #109 from Scab Creek Trailhead to its junction with Scab Creek Trail is OPEN. Sylvan Lakes Trail #162 is OPEN. However there may be hot spots between Sylvan Lakes and the Warbonnet Lake area, where caution is advised. Entire Highline Trail #094 and Fremont Trail #096 are OPEN. The entire Silver Lakes Trail #108 is OPEN. Lowline Trail #095 from Divide Lake to Monroe Lake is CLOSED, with over 60 trees down on this section of the trail. Unlike suppression activities on most forest fires, the Divide Fire is being managed to help remove the buildup of dead, rotting trees on the ground and to create a mosiac of vegetation that will ultimately benefit wildlife and reduce larger fires that often sweep through uniform aged forest. The forest in this area has a large build-up of downed trees, snags and ladder fuels that lead to higher fire risk if allowed to continue to accumulate.    Fire is a naturally-occurring event, but often is prevented in many areas of National Forest lands. In the Bridger Wilderness, there have only been two lightning fires in eleven years that have been allowed to burn their natural course. After considering the risks to visitors, private land, and areas surrounding the wilderness, the decision was made to manage this fire as a natural fire. Fire monitoring personnel and wilderness rangers are patrolling the closures.
