A Wyoming Conversation Program
A Changing Wyoming

The Wyoming Council for the Humanities will be presenting a series of programs entitled, “A Wyoming Conversation” January through June this year. A Wyoming Conversation is a statewide discussion program in partnership with Wyoming Public Radio, Wyoming Public Television, the Wyoming Community Foundation, and the University of Wyoming American Studies Program.

Wyoming Public Radio's evening show, Wyoming Today, will air monthly interviews on topics gleaned from last year's Community Conversations, the council's series of public meeting held around the state. The next day, Wyoming Council for the Humanities staff and representatives, along with community leaders, will host follow-up conversations in targeted communities.

January 26, Newcomers and Wyomingites: How do we welcome newcomers while sharing and maintaining our traditions?
February 23, A Shifting Economy: What are the implications of the economic shift from agriculture to energy and tourism?
March 23, Myths and Realities of the Wyoming Family: What realities challenge our image of Wyoming as a good place to raise a family?
April 20, Balancing Preservation and Development: How can we keep our cherished land and historic buildings while fostering development?
May 18, A More Diverse Wyoming: How do we encourage understanding among ethnic groups and greater tolerance in a global society?
June 1, Wyoming’s Changing Identity: How are changes in Wyoming and the West affecting our identity as the Cowboy State?
