There are currently three wildfires burning in the Upper Green River Basin on the Pinedale Ranger District. There is an area closure and trail diversion for the Continental Divide Trail associated with fire activity from the Green Fire near Green River Lakes. Fire danger is currently rated Very High, but no fire restrictions are in place at this time. All roads into the Upper Green remain open. Forest users are asked to be very careful with fires and ignition sources. Numerous abandoned campfires have been found to date. Burning 20 miles northeast of Cora in the Upper Green, near Green River Lakes at the base of Osborn Mountain. There has been no significant activity on this fire. Crews are continuing mop-up and patrol to secure north and west flanks. Emergency Area and Trail Closure remains in place. The closure includes the fire area perimeter as well as a portion of Trail #7094 (Continental Divide Scenic Trail) from Green River Lakes trailhead north to the point where it crosses the Roaring Fork River. This closure is necessary to provide for public safety. Fire managers may reassess trail and area closures if fire activity changes.
