The Steering Committee has re-engineered the display of the Path of the Pronghorn Bronze Project to better fit the elements of the site location. The new bronze will go on a small triangle of Town of Pinedale property on the west bank of Pine Creek on the southeast corner of the intersection of US 191/Pine Street with Lincoln Avenue. The sculpture will be created by artist Georgia Bunn.

With the assistance of WLC Engineering, the revised design concept has been split into two sections so it does not disturb the Neely Memorial Tree and the project will now be completed in two phases. The new design has a larger concrete pad behind the tree for four pronghorn and a smaller pad in the front of the tree for two pronghorn.

Phase One/A of the project is to install four pronghorn (one buck/three does) on the large concrete pad in back for a cost of $77,500.

The Pronghorn Love Benefit was held on Valentine’s Day, February 14th at the Pinedale Library. This community fundraiser raised almost $20,000 towards the project’s existing fund, for a total of $64,000. The fundraising has met the first part of the contract to fund the foundry for the first four pronghorn with more than 80% fundraised.

The Steering Committee has launched a "Kickstarter" fundraising campaign through April 15th to raise an additional goal of $5,000 for Phase 1/A of the bronze sculpture project. With the Kickstarter campaign rules, the project will only get the funding if the entire $5,000 is raised by the April 15th deadline. The Steering Committee encourages supporters to donate as soon as possible so the project can move forward and the first phase can move to the foundry.

On March 10th the Steering Committee approached the Pinedale Town Council with a request for approval for the cost and installation of the larger concrete pad, not to exceed $2,500. In addition, they asked for the Pinedale Department of Public Works to provide brush removal, dirt work, boulders, and seeds with native plants no later than May 1, 2014, weather permitting. This was approved.

Phase One/B of the project is to install two additional pronghorn (two does) on a small concrete pad in front of the main group, for a cost $28,000. This funding has not yet been raised.
