A fire began in downtown Dubois late Tuesday night, December 30th, destroying at least 8 businesses. Firefighting efforts were severely hampered by the -20 degree temperatures.

Among the businesses destroyed are the Dubois Mini Mart, Western Ledgers, Marlow Fly Shop, Stewart’s Trapline Gallery, the office for Absaroka Lodge, and several other offices. In all half a block was lost to the fire. The fire appears to have started in the back of the Mini Mart around 8:00PM. There were no injuries reported from the blaze. An investigation into the fire is continuing.

A fundraising page has been set up through GoFuneMe for anyone who would like to donate to help the businesses who lost everything in the fire. Once the fundraising is complete, the donations will be given to local nonprofit Needs of Dubois which will distribute funds to fire victims.
