Grip of Winter
November 29, 2015

Weather update, Sunday, Nov. 29, 10:15PM: Pinedale temp -8 as of the time of this update, already colder than predicted. Reports of water pipes freezing. Reminder for residents on Town water to keep a bleeder running in one of your faucets through the winter, about a pencil width stream of water flowing through pipes to prevent freeze-up.

Bridges may be icy
With winter comes snow covered roads. Bridges can be icy spots. Slow down and reduce driving speeds on snow-packed roads to avoid losing control. Pictured here is the bridge construction work on Hwy 351 over the Green River on Saturday, Nov. 28th.

Watch out for wildlife
You never know when one, or six deer will jump out into the road right in front of you. Many of the accidents reported recently in Sublette County have been collisions with wildlife. Drive at slower speeds on snow-packed roads and increase the buffer distance between you and the vehicles around to take icy conditions into consideration for needed stopping distance.
