PINEDALE, WYOMING – July 30, 2018: At approximately 10:15pm last night, July 29th 2018, Garrett Hunter was located by volunteer searchers and was found to be in good health. Garrett was located about 1 mile from his original camp in a drainage near Junction Lake. Garrett and the group of volunteer searchers made camp for the night as dark had already set in. Rescue operations were planned to continue in the morning.

As of 0730am this morning rescue operations are underway to bring Garrett out of the mountains. He is located in tough terrain which makes landing the helicopter in that area difficult and will take time to get him out. Teams are in the area scouting the best landing zone for rescue.

More information will be released when Garret has been rescued out of the mountains later today.
