Advisory on Easter Sunday services in Sublette County

PINEDALE, WYOMING – April 9th, 2020) This past week the Sublette COVID-19 Response Group has been working with internal stakeholders and state health officials on the recommendations for Easter services this weekend.
Yesterday, April 8th, Governor Mark Gordon during his press conference made a statewide request that we forego any in-person services as well as drive-in services and consider the common good in flattening the curve of spread. Gatherings are still considered a danger to the public and further spread of the COVID virus. It is essential for the common good and our most essential way to show love to our neighbors who are at risk for this disease.
In addition, local groups had expressed wishes of doing a drive-by Easter egg hunt this weekend. The Governor’s office, as well as the Sublette COVID-19 Response Group, agree that it would not be in the best interest of safety and being responsible to not spread the virus.
It is important that as a County and as a State we are all in this together. Sublette County is a great community who always looks out for the best interest of our citizens and neighbors. We have a responsibility to not further the potential spread of this virus. Many churches have already adapted to an online service option in the past weeks and we continue to encourage this practice while gatherings pose an increased risk.
