A powerful cold front brought winter conditions to Wyoming right after a gorgeous Labor Day weekend. The storm rolled in Monday night bringing freezing temperatures and snow reminding us how quickly the weather can change in Wyoming.

- Tuesday, Sept 8, 7:40AM: Multiple road closures across Wyoming this morning due to winter conditions. WY 29 Farson over South Pass CLOSED. US 191 Farson to Rock Springs CLOSED. US 189 Kemmerer to Evanston CLOSED. I-80 CLOSED from Evanston to Green River in SW Wyoming, and from Walcott Jct to Cheyenne in central/eastern Wyoming due to winter conditions. Roads in Sublette County are reported as dry with no travel issues.
- Tuesday, Sept. 8, 7:30AM: Power outage reported around 11:15PM Monday night in Boulder area. Sublette County Sheriff’s Office says a line was down on Blair Road. Power was reportedly restored around 2:30AM. If your power is still out, contact Rocky Mountain Power (1-888-221-7070).
- Monday, Sept. 7: High Wind Warning. Very strong winds expected for the Upper Green River Basin foothills and Jackson valley tonight as a very strong cold front moves into the area. Northeast winds around 40 mph with some gusts up to 70 mph expected from 9PM to 9AM Tuesday morning. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. High profile vehicles should use caution. Rain changing to snow tonight for the Upper Green River Valley of western Wyoming as a strong cold front moves into the area. Some thunder possible. Very windy. The high on Tuesday is only expected to reach 41F around Pinedale. Low of 13F Tuesday night. Below freezing temperatures every night this week. Outdoor recreationists should be prepared for cold, rain and snow. Those with sensitive outside plants should take steps to protect them from overnight freezing temperatures.
