Teton County, Wyoming’s cases of COVID-19 have dropped significantly and the Wyoming Department of Health says over 55% of the population in the county is vaccinated. Cases have dropped to just 1-2 per day during the month of May, with some days with no cases reported. The county has had 3,765 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases as of Friday, May 14th. They have had 9 reported deaths due to the virus. Their recovery rate from the disease is 99.2%. The Town of Jackson announced they were suspending their regular COVID-19 community update as of Friday, May 14th because Teton County has moved into the Green Risk Level and the community is doing so well.

Teton County has been consistently more restrictive on their COVID-19 health orders than the state-wide orders. They implemented face covering orders earlier and delayed lifting them later than the statewide health orders. The state lifted their 3-month mask mandate on March 16th. The Teton County county-wide mask order was finally rescinded on May 7th, with the exception for K-12 schools and college properties, in line with current state-wide health orders. Moving forward, the Teton County Health Department will be focusing on campaigns to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to seasonal workers and summer visitors.
