WEDNESDAY, MAY 5
• Writing Workshop for Adults by Author Page Lambert, 6 - 9 pm, Pinedale Library Lovatt Room. "Embracing Our Passion - in our Lives and in our Stories" is for writers of creative nonfiction, fiction and poetry. The workshop objectives are to explore the unfolding of theme, its connection to landscape, to personal and universal topics, and the importance of human emotion in discerning these connections. Lambert, from Sundance, Wyoming, is the author of "Shifting Stars" and "In Search of Kinship" and has contributed to many anthologies about life in the West. She will present a brief reading and then help participants find ways to tap into their own stories. Free. Sponsored by the Pinedale Fine Arts Council and the Sublette County Artists' Guild. THURSDAY, MAY 13
• "Bringing in the Sheaves: Women Missionaries in the West," free dramatic presentation by Lynne Swanson, 7 pm, Big Piney Library. Swanson will portray Grace Coolidge, wife of Arapaho Episcopal priest Sherman Coolidge. Grace served with her husband on the Wind River Reservation from 1902-1911 and on several reservations thereafter. She tells the story of the challenges faced by her and other women missionaries to Native Americans. Offered by the Wyoming Council for the Humanities Speakers Bureau and Big Piney Friends of the Library.

SATURDAY, MAY 15
• Community Pride Day, 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Meet in the American Legion Park at 8:30 am for coffee & doughnuts. Clean-up starts 9 am on designated areas of highway and county roads. T-shirts and gloves provided. Participants return to Legion Park at 12:30 pm for free barbecue, prizes & live music. Dumpster will be available at Town Hall for people to clean out their alleys etc. Transfer Station offers free dumping from 12:30 pm to closing Saturday. Volunteers needed! • Pinedale Writers' Group, 7 pm, Pinedale Library Lovatt Room. This is the first meeting of a group being established to "inspire and offer constructive criticism for novice and experienced writers alike." Meetings will offer informal exercises to stretch and flex your writing mind. The group will also research opportunities for contests and publishing. All forms of writing are encouraged: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children's stories, outdoor writing, etc. Meetings are free and open to all. SATURDAY, MAY 22
• Bike & Trike Rodeo, 9 am, American Legion Park, Pinedale. Hosted by the Children's Discovery Center. Mountain bikes, trikes and 2-wheelers included. For children ages pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Pledge sheets are available at the Pinedale Elementary School, Pinedale Library and at the Children's Discovery Center. Two bikes will be awarded for each age division: one for top pledges, and one for top speed. There will also be a raffle for $2 per ticket, with 50 kid prizes up for grabs.
